How to Choose the Right Facial for Your Skin: Dull, Pigmented or Event-Ready

Gold, wine, saffron, vitamin C. The names sound like a dessert list. Here is what they actually do, and how we decide with you.

A long facial menu is not there to confuse you. It exists because skin is not one problem. Someone with pigmentation from years in the Johor sun needs something different from someone whose skin is simply tired and dehydrated from air conditioning.

Here is the shortest honest version of the menu.

Where we would start

Wine facial, or Diamond with Serum

Both work on surface texture, lifting dead cells so your skin reflects light properly again. The most common first visit.

If your skin is dull and tired

Start with the wine facial or the diamond facial with serum. Both work on surface texture — lifting dead cells so light reflects off your skin properly again. This is the most common first visit and the least dramatic.

If you are dealing with dark patches

The anti-pigmentation and skin whitening facials are built for uneven tone. These are slow treatments. One session softens; a course over several months is what actually shifts things. Anyone promising more in one hour is selling you something.

If you have an event

The gold facials and the 24K illuminating facial are the ones to book three days before a wedding or a shoot — not the morning of. Skin needs a day or two to settle.

Never book a first-time facial the day before an event. Book it three weeks before, so you know how your skin answers.

If you want the strongest thing on the menu

The vitamin C serum and peel facial, and the Sothys hydrating intensive course. These are course treatments — the single session is a taste, not the result.

What we will ask you

  • What you are using at home right now, honestly.
  • Whether you are on any medication that thins the skin.
  • When your last facial was, and who did it.
  • What you actually want — brighter, calmer, clearer, or just an hour of quiet.

That last question matters more than people expect. Some visits are treatment. Some visits are rest. Both are a legitimate reason to be here.

Still not sure?

Let us choose your facial with you

Send us a photo in daylight and tell us what bothers you. We will point you to the right one of our twelve facials — or to the Sothys line, if your skin needs a course.
